Tessa Easingwood – The Artist
Working in the tourism industry for most of her life, Tessa has always been a very creative person. Though most of her creativity revolved around solving problems of more or less demanding guests on her tours, she never actually explored her artistic potential.
However, Tessa was always interested in art, with Vincent Van Gogh being her biggest inspiration to date. Unwilling and unable to pay for expensive paintings, Tessa decided to give it a try after one of her tours where she saw a beautiful flower arrangement in the lobby of an hotel. She wanted to copy it and ended up with the first Tessart ever made. The foundations for a potential career as a hobby painter were set.
After one painting she did another... and another... and got better and better.
„The biggest compliment for me“, explains Tessa „is if people love a painting that I’ve done and they want to have it. This shows me, that at least one person on this planet, besides me, likes the thing I’ve done“. Getting better and better also has it’s side effects! Tessa often generously gives away her paintings to the people that really like them. With more and more people appreciating Tessa’s Art, there are actually not many recent Tessarts left in her own house anymore. With most of them being spread around Cape Town and its surroundings, one special painting even made it’s way up to London in the UK.
With more paintings on her way, Tessa is still determined to keep her passion for the arts „At the end of the day, I still have to like my art. If people like it too, than that’s a fantastic bonus and more than I would ever ask for“.
